Eton Village Tour

Our driver Carl, picked us up from the hotel for our scheduled activity.  Maddison was quite skeptical about how the people looked after their cars, as the vehicle had seen many miles in it's life.  I explained to her that not everyone was as fortunate as us to have a new vehicle.  An insightful moment where the youngster could experience a tangible moment about the privileged life we Australians lead.

We headed off to tour to Eton Village, which was where Carl grew up, and still lived.  Aside from some concern about refueling the vehicle, whilst it was still running, the journey was relatively uneventful.  It was nice to be outside of Port Villa and seeing the island and the amazing coastline.

Our first stop was to the kindergarten, which is the equivalent to what stage Maddison is currently at in her schooling.

It was interesting to see her take on the visit, as she was instantly confused about why the children did not have a big playground full of swings, and questioned Carl about how the children played.  Inside we met Carl's son and listened to the class sign us various renditions of songs at a volume that Def Leppard would have been immensely proud of.
