Eden Beach

Back through the bush and on to the main road, and then another 20 minutes down the road.  The next destination was Eden Beach.  This was the final destination of the freshwater stream that we had recently visited.  Where the stream met the ocean was an awesome sight, a bright aqua pool.

Carl sent us off to explore whilst he prepared a BBQ lunch for the three of us.  As we walked around the edges, you could actually see the tropical fish right by the rocks.  Although at this point we had not packed towels and snorkel equipment, we were great at improvising.  Maddison's normal attire on the trip consisted of a rash shirt and boardies, and mine was not much different.  On the way through the village we had stopped at Carl's house, and he was kind enough to grab us a couple of his towels.

Despite the lack of gear we had great fun exploring the rock pools and swimming in the ocean.  Carl was a great cook and had prepared us sausages, salad and soft drinks whilst we were out.  There was much amusement as I pulled of the crusts up on request from the youngster!  But a sausage in bread was gobbled down without a fuss.
