Day 7

We did follow the instructions of the General Manager, bundling the kids into the bus at 4:15 am.  Upon arriving at the airport, it didn't take long to realise that we were not going to leave today.  The airlines were chocking on the inability to fly over the past few days, and priority was given to ticket holders who were already past their scheduled departure day.

After four nights of unbroken sleep and limited day time movement, the AS is on fire and escalating as each day passes.  Whilst the storm was quieter during the night, and the day full of scattered showers, the impacts are starting to be felt.  The kids did manage a swim in the pool, but it was cold!

The hotel is running low on staff, food and water.  The sewerage plant was damaged in the floods, and the recommendation to only flush when essential is provided to the hotel guests.  The menu's are being replaced with one buffet meal each night, and you eat what your given!

A call from home confirms that the cyclone scheduled for later today will not hit Nadi.
