The General Manager of the hotel is wandering around soliciting names of interested parties who would like to escape downtown Nadi and head home. His plan was to arrange for the NZ flight to return at some unholy hour during the night, and that the airline would honor any airline ticket. After quickly signing up for this option, all we had to do was to wait for an 11:00 pm phone call.

The girls are giggling in the bath tub, unpreterbed by the surrounding weather conditions or the surrounding devastastion. After consuming two pieces of chocolate cake from the buffet later that evening, life is fairly close to nirvana for the pair of them.
We packed all the bags before bed in the vain hope that the General Manager has convinced the airline to return to Nadi to escort the Aussies home safely before the cyclone hits.
Regretably the 11:00 pm phone call advises that the best option available is to dash to the airport at 4.30 am the following morning and take your chances on lining up for one of the outgoing flights.
