Even after an appalling effort on the gardening front, our little sustainable empire is providing for the family. Our salads are sporting a stack of cherry tomatoes, and the fridge is always stocked with fresh eggs. The mulberry tree is slowly producing berries, which we are storing in the freezer, with the end goal of mulberry pie, looming in the not too distant future.
Tomorrow we head off for our first overseas holiday together, so this afternoon will be a fresh batch of homemade ice cream making its way to the freezer, as we use up some left over cream residing in the fridge.
It will be a nice pleasant afternoon of recovery, driving lesson number three out of the way, and my little heart is still racing at a speed faster than the teenager took one of those corners!
